One of the elegant architectural and semantic solutions of the project was the graceful and laconic arch in the center of the facade, facing Bolotnaya Street. A hundred years ago, residents and guests of the Kokorev farmstead passed through it into the interior space. Today, it connects the two wings of the building – the overhauled historic one and the newly built one – and becomes a portal between the past and the future.

OLD PART OVERHAUL
By the early 21st century, only one wing of the building remained; the second stood in a state of disrepair for a long time and was eventually destroyed. The overhauled DUO house part is not only the facades and walls, which original thickness creates high sound insulation. The project's objectives involved preserving as much of the historical elements of the building's interior as possible.
PART TO BE RECONSTRUCTED
RECONSTRUCTING THE DESTROYED PART
Numerous archival documents and work "on site" enabled the architects to recreate and reinterpret in their own way the lost part of the building, preserving its overall rhythm and harmony. The facade of the reconstructed part of the farmstead is, thus, as close as possible to the lost one and has become both classic and innovative.

The DUO club house project fused careful restoration of the Kokorev farmstead with new construction on the site of the destroyed parts of the building, preserving its spirit and redefining its historical appearance using state-of-the-art materials.

HISTORY
The restoration project involves meticulous restoration of the main staircase from the second half of the 19th century, including steps and landings made of natural stone, and the historic vaults of the basements of the first building floor The historical design and proportions of the late 19th century facade will be preserved. The ceiling height in the apartments reaches 2.95 m, and the windows are two meters high. The building retains the thickness of its walls, which serves as a high level of sound insulation.

Residents of the building have at their disposal cozy and spacious lobbies, where it is pleasant to linger for a while before heading out into the bustling city, as well as a well-thought-out club infrastructure. This is a fitness space and spa, play areas for children, and storage for strollers and bicycles. Adults will appreciate special rooms for informal negotiations where they can discuss the day’s events with their neighbors and meet with business partners. There is also a wine collection with an exquisite wine list and a private cinema.
